Preventative visits at our office include, a complete physical exam, preventative lab testing, immunizations, and referrals for out-patient preventative testing based on the patient’s age, such as Mammogram, Bone Density, and Colonoscopy.

Many preventive services are 100 percent covered by commercial insurances. However with recent changes to the Affordable Healthcare Act, insurance policies are now offered called Limited Benefit Plans. These plans are not required to cover any preventative health. It is important that patients know their policies and what the policy covers.

North Roswell Internal Medicine offers several immunizations, the practice provides Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, B combo, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Meningitis, Polio, Japanese Encephalitis, Typhoid, Cholera, Shingles, Pneumonia 23, Pneumonia 13, and HPV vaccines. We can also perform serum titers to confirm if a patient is fully immunized to specific diseases.

Blood work can be drawn in the office and specimens are sent to Quest Diagnostics or Laboratory Corporations of America for testing.

Electrocardiograms are performed during some preventative health examinations and also for diagnostic purposes.

Mechanical and Computerized Spirometry is available for lung assessment.

North Roswell Internal Medicine’s physicians are well trained in women’s health. Preventative services such as Pap Smear, Stool Hemoccult, Mammogram, Bone Density, Hormone Testing all either performed in the office or ordered through out-patient facilities.

The REEVUE measures the oxygen that the body consumes. Using this measurement it calculates a patient’s Resting Energy Expenditure (REE), commonly referred to as a Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). Under strict laboratory protocol, the ReeVue can be used to measure basal metabolic rate (BMR).

Medically Supervised Weight Loss is offered in conjunction with the Reevue System. Metabolic Testing, Diet and Exercise Instructions, and Prescription Weight Loss Medication is all offered by the practice.

Chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia require close attention and follow up by your Primary Care Provider. North Roswell Internal Medicine provides excellent care to patients with Chronic Medical Conditions offering regular follow appointments, medication adjustments, medication refills, and referrals for out-patient testing when necessary.
